New Runs By Praz are First Step to Megeve Link

A new ski area, adding 3 new pistes and a new 6-man chairlift, is opening this year in the Espace Diamant, just at the edge of the Praz sur Arly ski area and marks the first step to a connection with the Domaine Evasion Mont Blanc ski area which includes Megeve and Les Contamines.

The new Bellasta lift joins the top of the Plan des Four chair lift which can be taken from the bottom of Les Crozats run which is the piste which runs from 3 Coins in Praz sur Arly into neighbouring Notre Dame de Bellecombe.

According to the site here – which lists all the proposed enhancements in the Espace Diamant – this is the first step in the long talked about link to Megeve. The final phase – as yet unplanned – links Bellasta to Plan Mermin Prés Rosset Megeve.

That may be some time off but even this new extensions on the doorstep of Praz extends the local skiing possibilities in the 2014/15 Season

La Moufle Bar

While there are many of great places to get a drink locally, La Moufle is has become the defacto bar in town since it opened in 2013 and where tourists and locals – especially the younger ones – choose to hang out.

Super-cool and always welcoming, whatever your age, it’s a great place to for Praz apres-ski or at the end of the night. Great selection of beers and cocktails and some interesting International bar snacks. Not the cheapest in town but not quite central Megève prices.

You never know how the evening will turn out. It can be pretty quiet and laid-back or packed out, more often the latter when there’s an event such as a DJ or band, which there typically is once or twice a week in season. We’ve had some crazy evening here (see example below). Either way – it’s lovely. As they say here “Kiss, Love and Moufle”

Video of the Summerfields – Feb 2013

Just the Summerfield/McLure family at half term Feb 2013. We had some sun and the snow was great. And everyone – Daisy included – really enjoyed the skiing. For the first time we all skied down together from the Cret du Midi, our town’s main peak – a real Red Letter day
