Adding a Printer to the Range of Facilities

Our apartment in Praz sur Arly has long had all mod cons; washing machine; wifi – what more could any holiday maker want? What about a printer – for printing off check-in docs or other critical documents you might need while you’re away from home/work?

So, for 2014 you’ll be able to find a very compact thermal printer in the cupboard alongside the communal laptop Stuart kindly donated.

It only works with thermal paper and there’s a pack of A4 also stored in the cupboard by the front door. I’ll make sure I put a link to instructions on the PC desktop.

Not all Génépi is the Same!

I’ve grown fond of Génépi – a local Savoyard liqueur infused with a mountain herb. Sweet, a little perfumy – yes – but it’s a great digestive. Nothing cuts through a fondu like it. But, as I have discovered today, you need to be beware what you buy. Bought a bottle for 11euro (on the right, below) in the local Sherpa – yellow (not golden) watery and artificial, yuck! The one on the left was 19euro and the genuine article. You probably get what you pay for. Best bet is to try them in the deli in Praz.

Genepi - Good vs. Evil

Excellent Merlot for Under 2.50euro

Remembered I’d had a great cheap red called La Croix du Pin from the Intermarchet but couldn’t recall if it was the Cabernet, Syrah, Gamay or Merlot – so, for under 2.50 each I bought the lot. Just tried the Merlot and it is very good – superb for the price.

Posting it here mainly as a reminder but finding myself sounding very neuveau!

I’ll let you know about the rest.
