Our preferred is Emonet Sport. It’s not the closest or the cheapest but it is well stocked, high quality and very friendly service. They changed hands in 2018 but I’m glad to say the new owners are as lovely as the former.
They can also deliver to the apartment if need be.
You can book direct of via Ski Set – keep an eye out for discount codes.
Click here for the English website of the ESF Ski School in Praz. Group or private lessons are available from age 3 upwards. Online booking is available but be aware there are not group lessons on English in Praz.
English speakers from the Praz ESF we’ve enjoyed one-on-one private lessons with include: Claude Emonet, Thiery Guinot and Guy Joly-Pottuz. Book early, as they do get booked out especially during the French school hols. They tend to be free during lunch, at 1-2pm, which is perfect as the restaurants can be too busy at that time. So, take a lesson, then a late lunch.
Another option for private lessons is in Megève with “Megève Mike”, or one of his acolytes. See here: http://www.skiprosmegeve.com/
The ESF in Megève does run english group skiing. In our experience, however, you’ll learn a lot more for not much more, booking the great value lessons in Praz-sur-Arly. Then take your newly learned skills to the stunning pistes of Megève.
